SERVICES

Hi. I’m Dr. Julian Owens. Many of my students, parents, colleagues, and friends call me Dr. Juju. I am the Executive Director of the H2L Foundation. I founded this organization in 1999 and we have been a 501c(3) organization providing educational and technical assistance to agencies, institutions, schools and school districts, NGOs and CBOs for over two decades.

I am also a Mediatrician who trains and supervises clinicians and practitioners using music and media therapy to facilitate individual and group therapeutic educational sessions. In addition to providing personal and professional development training and supervision training, I offer expert technical assistance in research design, implementation, and evaluation.

I am musician/singer/songwriter/recording artist here to make the case that popular youth music and media is culturally relevant content and offers a culturally relevant lens through which we may engage young people in acquiring key skills to thrive in school and beyond. I focus on five broad competencies and seven specific skills.

I offer the following services:

  • Consulting [confer and advice leaders and SMEs on curriculum and instruction, training, and professional development in clinical, school, and community settings]

  • Supervision/Training/Coaching/Model-Teaching

  • Public Speaking/Appearances
